The Orphan Trust
Was established by three philanthropist brothers, Aquil, Sibtein and Arif Asaria.
When our father passed away early in 2018, we started The Orphan Trust in both his and our late mother’s memory. The charity feeds needy children who, like us, have lost their parents. Unlike them, we are able to share the fruits of our good fortune in life for the sake of humanity. We are passionate about this work to serve the underprivileged.

Our team
Our team of Orange Caps on the ground in Kerbala is led by social worker Gazzwan Hashm Akiers, our paid employee. We have known Ghazwan for ten years and his community service is exceptional. He works alongside four volunteers who have been inspired by the Trust to go out and make a difference. We provide them with transportation and other assistance as and when needed. They are all a huge asset to The Orphan Trust.
Our Trustee Tufeyl Akber lives in Kerbala and helps to oversee all administration matters, as well as assisting in the procurement of the rations needed on a weekly basis.

Looking ahead
Our goal is to join with like-minded people to expand The Orphan Trust to other cities in Iraq, then to war-torn countries such as Syria, Yemen and the Bangladesh border with Myanmar, as well as Pakistan, India, Tanzania and Kenya. In all these nations there is a crying need to provide this humanitarian aid to orphans.
